Day 7: Copenhagen
This fairytale city is filled with magical choices. Explore the harbor where Hans Christian Andersen once lived. Pay your respects to the Queen at Rosenborg Palace, or to the Danish Parliament at Christiansborg Palace. Find a feast for the eyes and food for the soul (and stomach) at Tivoli Gardens.

Day 8: Kiel Canal
The busiest artificial waterway in the world, busier than the Panama Canal and the Suez Canal combined, this 61-mile-long canal saves a 250-mile detour.

Day 9: Harlingen
With a long history of fishing and shipping, Harlingen is a lovely town of old canals, charming merchants’ houses, warehouses and a network of quaint narrow alleys. On the shores of the Wadden Sea, a UNESCO Site, attractions include one of the best preserved warehouses, Blauwe Hand, built in 1647, the Harlingen Lighthouse, built in the early 1920s and now a hotel, and the 18th century City Hall right in the center of town.

Day 11: Edinburgh
